From Kendal, follow the A6 northwards. Take the road to Longsleddale and follow the road to Sadgill. This is a narrow, single track which does not connect with any other road. Inspite of this road only going to one place, it can be very busy with hikers. There are some passing places along the route. The road seems to go on forever, but you need to look out for a small track road on the right signposted 'Stockdale'.

When you reach Stockdale, if you are a single party, there is spaces for two vehicles, one of the left hand side at this junction in a small lay by and the second on the grass band by the entrance. Please make sure that there is enough room for farm traffic and mini-buses to pass. If no spaces are available, drive 800m further up the road till to reach a car park with a bridge and walk back southwards to Stockdale.

Walk along the Stockdale track, it will pass through a farm and lead to an 'Adventure centre' marked by some old buildings, from here you need to ascend the hill on your left all the way up to the top. At the top you will clearly see two quarries, you should see these as you approach the top.
